First impressions were not very comfortable. Felt out of place and had to rock, paper, scissors for who would go in and find out how it worked.
The sugar coated scones glistened in the sun as they came out to our table.
As we were about to tuck in our sense of uncomfortableness was realised as we were asked if we could, “Pay now please.”
We of course obliged but were a bit perturbed that we could look so out of place. Or perhaps it was because we accidentally stumbled into the kitchen upon arrival. Or was it that we’d been in previously and left abruptly because we feared it may have been too upmarket for us. It was hard to tell.
The over-priced tea was notably better than previous teas.
Scones were a delight to eat. The pot of cream was lovely and the jam was sweet and rich. The delicious trio made for a pleasant symphony of flavours.
