Experience: 4* Cream tea: 4.7* Cost: £5.50
It's late September and summer is finally here. We have been told by a fan that this is where the best cream tea is found.
We have brought Ed with us and he is telling us stories of how a seal popped up next to him, gave him a wink and then disappeared. We think he just wants to get a mention on the blog. Ordered a cream tea each and found a nice spot almost overlooking the harbour. It's a classic cream tea- just like the ones in Tom's Grandmother's stories, back when scones were more like iced buns. They were lighter than normal. It's nice not feeling sick after a cream tea and that we
can get on with our day afterwards.
Good amount of cream and just enough jam. We are in cornwall but have been given Essex jam- which is the most important downfall, even if it was quite nice.
Everything about this cream tea feels authentic. Except for the jam. Which is from Essex. This is Ed's last invite as he has just insulted Tom- comparing his feet to a pasty.
We felt like we were sat in the smoking area and can't see the harbour. This place brought cream teas back to their roots. Nice one.
